The summers range from a high of 71 degrees and a low of 39 with an average of 1.62" of rain per month.
The winters are cold and snowy with an average of 225-250" of snow from December to May. Temperatures can get as high as 30 and go as low as -20.
Since we are up on a mountain the weather is unpredictable and can change quickly. Make sure to stay up to date on the current weather before coming up.

The best time to visit completely depends on what you're hoping to do! There is something incredible to do here every month.
Our Winter season runs from December 15th to April 15th. Come up and enjoy a snowmobile ride and a cozy winter cabin!
The summer is rich in wildlife and beautiful views. You can rent a side-by-side and experience nature first hand.
The summer is best if you want to hike, fish, and see wildlife. It is impossible to miss moose, elk, deer, and bears!

You can do whichever one is more comfortable for you. If you have been here before and might not have as many questions then we suggest booking online for the easiest and quickest option.
What kind of wildlife will I encounter?
The Bighorn Mountains are famous for having abundant wildlife.
In the summer you can expect to see Moose, Elk, Bears, Deer, Foxes, Birds of Prey, and more!
In the winter you can see much of the same but the elk and deer have primarily moved down the mountain where the weather is less harsh.
What is the best way to get to the lodge? Is Hwy 14A closed during the winter?
The best way to get to the lodge changes depending on the season and where you're coming from.
In the summer Hwy 14A is completely open from us, all the way to Cody, WY. From the East, I-90 intersects with Hwy 14 which leads right to us.
In the winter Hwy 14A is closed from us to Cody. The only way to access us in the winter is via Hwy 14.
What kind of vehicles do you rent out?
In the winter we rent out 5 different types of snowmobiles which cater to all skill levels. We rent out 3 types of mountain sleds and 2 types of trail sleds.
In the summer we rent out multiple types of side-by-sides which are perfect for exploring the mountains and viewing wildlife.
